Jazz Rock. This has a repeated 9-bar chord progression: 4 bars Cm7 (C dorian); 3 bars Ebm7 (Eb dorian) 2 bars G7b10. 9-bar sections all the way through feels odd at first; you soon get used to it. The feeling of the piece is intense, but not loud. Coromandel can be played with any combination of front-line instruments, or as solo instrument with rhythm section.
