I composed, arranged and recorded Bassoonova in 1968 playing bassoon, clarinet and piano. The bass, drums and piano tracks were laid down by Ron Rubin, Bill Eyden and me. I then multi-tracked the bassoon and clarinet written parts followed by the improvised bassoon solo. 

Bossa Nova was new in Britain then and becoming popular. There could only be one appropriate title for this piece.
